SEARSPORT — Edward S. Hodgdon Sr., 83, of Searsport, passed away on Aug. 28, 2016, at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. Edward was born Dec. 5, 1932, to Sidney M. and Abbie (Emmis) Hodgdon.

He grew up in Northport. In February of 1952, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. When he returned to Maine, he worked many years in the poultry industry.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice E. Hodgdon of Searsport; and her daughters, Ruta L. Barrett of Searsport and Sandra D. Hills of Searsmont; his children, Robin Bartlett and Jeffery Hodgdon of Lincolnville, Penny Robbins of Belfast, Regina Parker of South Berwick, Edward Hodgdon Jr, Terrence Hodgdon and Rhonda McLeod of Stockton Springs. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are private and under the care of Riposta Funeral Home.
