Dorothy A. Mills, obituary
CAMDEN — Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Adria Ingraham Mills, age 96, member of John Street United Methodist Church, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020.
Proudly born in Camden, February 18, 1924, Dottie was the daughter of Joshua and Virginia Moore Ingraham.
Dottie graduated from Camden High School when it was only a three-story-building. She then happily married her husband, Sumner ‘Mose’ Davis Mills.
During the World War II era and the Pearl Harbor Attack, Dottie and her sister would climb Mount Battie daily and with their binoculars they would watch for enemy planes flying by and the enemy ships in the harbor. Later in life, Dottie would crochet two lap robes a week with Rockland’s ‘Knit-Wits’ group for nursing homes and Meals on Wheels.
Other than her parents and husband, Dottie is predeceased by sisters Bea I. Cunningham and Mona Lucille Ingraham; and her son and daughter-in-law, Joshua A. and Linda Ingraham.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Mills Lesmerises and her husband Armand; grandchildren, Kimberley, Andrew Lesmerises, and his wife, Suzanne Cifaldo, Ruthie Lesmerises and Joshua Perry; great-grandchildren Oliver, Gregory, and Isaiah; brother-in-law, Craig Cunningham; nieces and nephews, Carolan and Jeff and their 4 children, and Craig R. and Patti and their children.
