Dorothy Koski, obituary
LINCOLNVILLE — Dorothy Koski, 87, of Lincolnville, died Nov. 20.
She was born May 25, 1932 in Medford, Mass, to Florence and Aldo Carmolli,
Dorothy graduated from Medford High School with the Class of 1949.
She married her high school beau, Richard Koski, on Feb. 22, 1951, and moved to Amherst, Massachusetts, while Richard completed college at the University of Massachusetts.
In 1955, Dorothy traveled to Schweinfurt, Germany, for 18 months while her husband was stationed there with the U.S. Army.
Upon returning stateside, they lived in Berkley, Massachusetts, on the Wirthmore Feeds Research Farm (1957-1965), and then moved to Lincolnville, Maine in 1965.
Dorothy was very family oriented. Her greatest joy came from raising three children, who were the light of her life.
She worked several years at Down East Magazine, and later at the Lincolnville Telephone Company, until her retirement in 1997.
Dorothy enjoyed a lifetime musical study and performance in percussion, voice, piano and ultimately, the organ. She has long been prominently associated with the music venue at the Christian Science Church in Camden, United Christian Church in Lincolnville Center and a most fulfilling position as organist and choir director at the John Street United Methodist Church in Camden.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Lincolnville; son Alan and his wife, Janet, of Weld; daughter Dawn of Lincolnville; son Jonathan and his companion, Leslie Silvia, of Rockland; sister Jane Ribble, of Boothbay; brother E. Marston Carmolli and his wife, Ethel, of Scarborough; sister Carole Heard and her husband, Roy, of Dallas, Texas; and brother David Carmolli and his wife, Judy, of Sebring, Florida.
A private family service will be held at a future date.
