Day of the Dead dance party with Sugar Snaps in Rockport
ROCKPORT — The Sugar Snaps will perform at a Day of the Dead dance party Friday, Nov. 1, at the Rockport Opera House.
"Celebrate the lifting of the veil to the afterworld with the help of an on-hand face-painter (or just don a mask)," said Lo Motman, in a news release. "Then shake your bones to the deep-cut soul and funk that the Snaps are known for, featuring tunes by the likes of Maceo Parker, Sharon Jones, James Brown, Etta James, Stevie Wonder, and the Meters."
The band showcases the powerhouse vocals of Emma Theobalds and a classic horn section featuring Julian Stearns on trumpet, Steve Orlofsky on sax, and Adam Tangarone on trombone. They’re all backed by a crack rhythm section comprised of guitarist Will Field, keyboardist Mo Lotman, bassist Adam Nordell, and drummer Willy Crichton.
The spirited celebration happens at the Rockport Opera House, 6 Central St., in Rockport on Friday, November 1. Doors open at 7:30, show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available in advance at rockportoperahouse.org or at the door.
