CAMDEN — David W. Gordon, 82, died peacefully at the Sussman House on April 1 surrounded by his loving wife, Kay, and his three children.

Dave spent most of his growing-up years in Rhode Island, attended The Choate School, Cornell University and The Tuck School at Dartmouth. His 30 year business career was with Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York. The pinnacle of that career was when Kodak offered him an assignment in Camden. He and Kay decided to make a temporary move here. However, they ended up falling in love with the area and its people as well as the beautiful sailing waters so Dave then retired and lived here happily ever after.

Upon his retirement, Dave quickly immersed himself in the local community by volunteering much of his time to Habitat for Humanity, the Camden Conference, MidCoast Artists, Camden Yacht Club, and Coastal Family Hospice.

Dave was the epitome of a gentleman. He was most kind, caring, loving, and humorous.

He will be deeply and forever missed by his wife and family.

There is no memorial service planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to Coastal Family Hospice Volunteers.

Condolences may be shared with the family at www.longfuneralhomecamden.com.

Arrangements are with the Long Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 9 Mountain Street, Camden.
