Cushing Public Library has submitted the following:

It’s been very quiet here on Cross Road for the past months, and Board and volunteers of the Cushing Public Library are delighted to welcome patrons back to a re-opened Library as of July 1. The schedule will be Mondays, 10 a.m. - noon; Wednesdays, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.; and Fridays, 10 a.m. – noon.  Saturday hours will resume at a later date.

In accordance with Maine CDC and Maine State Library guidelines, the library has set new policies to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection. Masks and social distancing are required, and only five people, including volunteers, are allowed in the building at one time. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Whenever possible, only one family member at a time is permitted. Time in the library is limited to 30 minutes.

Returns should be placed in the book depository outside, even if patrons are coming in to use the library. Items handled while browsing will be cleaned and quarantined before re-shelving. Patrons will be asked to sign in on entry for contact tracing purposes. Hand sanitizer should be used before handling library materials. Only one computer will be available for public use. Volunteers will clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces throughout the day.

Curbside services will continue to be available as follows: Mondays, 10 a.m. – noon and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – noon.

For more information on the new policies or curbside service, please contact Wendy Roberts at (207) 354-2341 or at wrobertsmaine63@gmail.com.
