Come Spring Food Pantry opens new location to Midcoast community

UNION —  The new facility owned by Come Spring Food Pantry, located at 27 Common Road in Union, is now serving Midcoast residents in need after many decades operating out of the Thompson Community Center in Union. With renovations continuing throughout the building, Come Spring Food Pantry had its first “Pantry Day” on Wednesday, June 14.

With a freshly installed roof and exterior paint, ongoing work includes expanded food pantry space, commercial kitchen, and community space. Vital refrigeration and freezer storage will be shared with other local food insecurity organizations. Planned community uses including raised beds for gardening, walking paths, along with nutrition, cooking education programs, and more.

“Come Spring Food Pantry’s mission of feeding our neighbors with dignity, promoting health, opportunity and hope will continue to grow in scope at the new facility,” said the Pantry, in a news release.
