BELFAST — Belfast’s Heritage Park underwent a colorful transformation Saturday, Sept. 21, as artists and enthusiastic novices took part in this year’s Chalk Walk.

The event is run by Waterfall Arts’ All Ages Art Happening, an all-age group led by Bridget Matros, Waterfall Arts’ Youth & Family Outreach Manager.

Events held by AAAH “engage area youth and families through community-building “art parties” with memorable, themed, multi-sensory art experiences for all ages,” according to a media release about the event.

Waterfall Arts is a nonprofit contemporary art center, and those interested are invited to reserve a four by four square at the event to create their masterpieces.

Reservations allow for a four by four square on the section of the Harborwalk that runs through Heritage Park. Those who don’t make a reservation are also welcome to participate in any of the open areas.

Waterfall Arts provided the chalk, rags, knee pads, and drinking water at the event.
