Thu, 01/24/2019 - 10:30am

CAMDEN -  Clown duo Pinot & Augustine will bring their joyful, family friendly show to the Camden Opera House on Wednesday, February 6 at 6 p.m. The Camden Public Library and Camden Opera House have partnered to present this family-friendly show, just in time for Camden Winterfest!

Pinot & Augustine is a classic, family-friendly clown duo inspired by the golden age of Circus. Their performance is a 45-minute, bilingual crowd-pleaser.

Pinot is the authoritarian clown in fancy clothes and white cone hat, while Augustine is the appealing red-nosed bumbler who punctures his pomposity. Their show bubbles over with physical comedy, virtuosity and musical surprises from the sublime to the ridiculous, from lyrical melodies on a musical saw to pratfalls and slapstick antics. Pinot speaks to Augustine in French, using simple phrases and context clues so that even non-French speaking audiences can easily understand, making their shows a fun and educational experience for audiences of all ages!

These seasoned performers have been seen at festivals and venues including the New York Clown Theater festival, the Capital Fringe Festival, Wolf Trap’s Theater-in-the-Woods, and the Kennedy Center’s Look Both Ways Festival.

General Admission tickets $5, children under 5 are admitted free. Tickets are available only at the Camden Public Library or at the door the night of the show, cash or check only. Event is generously sponsored by the Elms of Camden.
