CAMDEN — The Camden Public Library announces that sign-up is now open for the children’s Summer Reading Program called “Tails and Tales.” The program will kick off outside the library on Thursday, June 24, at 10 a.m. for ages 4 to 7, and at 11 a.m. for ages 8 to 12.

Participants will meet with Miss Amy on Thursdays for 6 weeks to enjoy books, crafts, and special activities. For more information and to register, please call the library at 207-236-3440.

“We have make and takes, reading logs, and lots of great activities planned,” says youth librarian Amy Hand, in a news release. “Chewonki will be bringing their Maine Mammals program, and we’ll celebrate our finale with a story walk around the library grounds!”

All of the activities will take place outdoors in the Amphitheatre and on the library’s grounds.

“The library respects that some families may not feel comfortable gathering in person until their children have been vaccinated,” said the release.

Mask-wearing is welcome, and there will also be virtual opportunities for families to participate in some of the summer reading activities.
