Cast votes for UMC's 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Contest
CAMDEN — United Midcoast Charities (UMC) invites the public to cast their votes for the People’s Choice Award at the 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Contest during Camden’s Christmas by the Sea weekend. The event, held once again in the lower level of 16 Bay View Hotel, is free to attend.
View, vote, and bid on the gingerbread houses Friday, December 6, from noon to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, December 7, from noon to 7 p.m. Public voting and the silent auction will end at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Enjoy a signature cocktail with UMC on Saturday, specially crafted for this event, starting at 5 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit UMC.
“This event offers a gentle, family-friendly way to positively impact important issues, and support the lifesaving work of local agencies addressing critical needs in the community”, said Becca Gildred, Executive Director of United Midcoast Charities, in a news release. "We are also pleased to announce that several UMC supported agencies will be participating in this event, creating 'Villages' of three or more entries. When you stop by their 'Village' you will have the opportunity to learn more about these organizations and the important work they are doing to help our community members thrive."
This year proceeds from the event benefit the more than 40 area nonprofit partners that UMC supports annually. This event is sponsored by 16 Bay View Hotel, Starlight Kitchen & Bath, Midcoast Villager, Allen Insurance and Financial, Adventure Advertising, and Wallace Events.
