Camden Rotary thanks the community for successful nut sale

Sat, 01/28/2023 - 6:00pm

I would like to thank everyone who supported the Camden Rotary Club’s recent holiday nuts sale.

We enjoyed meeting friends and neighbors at our downtown sales table in front of French & Brawn Marketplace and greatly appreciate Todd and Sarah Anderson’s generous provision of that space for us.

Thanks also to the Penobscot Bay YMCA, Camden National Bank, The First, and TD Bank for displaying nuts for their visitors to purchase — and to our loyal customers!

We are delighted to have netted over $5,500, with proceeds going to this year’s grants for local nonprofit organizations. Recent recipients of our grants include New Hope for Women, Coastal Opportunities, Knox County Health Clinic, Knox County Homeless Coalition, MCH Meals on Wheels, Merryspring Nature Center, and the Area Interfaith Outreach Energy Assistance Program.   Grant applications for 501c3 nonprofit organizations in Knox County and Lincolnville are available at www.camdenrotary.org and are due by February 15.

We look forward to awarding new grants this spring, thanks in no small part to the money we raised through this sale.

Judith Tarbox, of Camden, is president of the Camden Rotary Club
