CAMDEN — Maine State Representative Vicki Doudera has presented a Spirit of America Foundation Award to the Camden Rotary Club to recognize its service to the community.

The Spirit of America Foundation was founded in Augusta, in 1990 to encourage and promote volunteerism. Maine municipalities present the foundation's awards to local individuals, organizations, and projects to recognize commendable community service.

In presenting the award, Camden's first, Doudera praised the club's grants to local charities, scholarship distributions, volunteer services, and focus on local economic and workforce development.

The Camden Rotary Club has served the local community for over 95 years by raising money for charitable causes, distributing college and career technical education scholarships, and participating in service projects.
