Camden Hills student teapots earn ribbons, praise in Portland Pottery show

PORTLAND — Camden Hills Regional High School teacher Russell Kahn's advanced clay students submitted their Trompe L'Oiel (fool the eye) teapots and cups to the annual Teapot/Cup show and competition at Portland Pottery.
The entries were viewed during the First Friday Art Walk in Portland on June 3.
As a result, Maddie Wickenden's Puffer Fish received the Best High School Student award ribbon and Morgan Ford won the Most Creative Teapot for his entry of a an old style camera in the show for students and adults.
Both students will be receiving $50 gift certificates to Portland Pottery. In a news release, Kahn said that all the students teapots were praised by the artists for originality and creativity.
