Camden Hills boys soccer blanks Skowhegan
SKOWHEGAN — The Camden Hills varsity boys soccer team collected a road victory Tuesday, Sept. 27 over Skowhegan.
The visiting Windjammers scored two goals in each half to sail to 4-0 victory over the River Hawks.
The first half of the game the 'Jammers found it hard to find their footing on the rain soaked pitch but Lucas Moody opened the scoring with a well placed header off a corner with seven minutes to play in the half (assisted by Max Welt).
Welt then drove wide and center across for Roan Aldridge-Peacock with two minutes remaining in the period. Aldridge-Peacock’s initial shot was blocked by Skowhegan netminder Orion Dickinson but Roan deftly put home the rebound to make it 2-0.
Eight minutes into the second half the 'Jammers finished off a nice sequence of one touch passes with Cam Brown blasting a ball into the lower left corner of the net.
With 20 minutes left in the game Jasper Hackett (Welt assisting) tucked a nifty finish into the bottom corner to make it 4-0.
Camden hills finished with a 30-4 advantage in shots and a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Brian Leonard made two saves to earn the shutout while Dickinson finished with 15 saves for Skowhegan.
Ryan Hurley is the coach of the Camden Hills boys soccer team.
