ROCKLAND —If you were anywhere near Maverick Street in Rockland on Saturday you couldn't miss the scent of grilled steak wafting through the air from the Hannaford parking lot.

Chef Kerry Altiero of Café Miranda — and an integral part of an upcoming Hannaford Chef's Table campaign debuting later this month — was serving up juicy steak bites with his signature "I Dreamt of Jerry" sauce. Along with that, there was free water and chilled Hannaford craft sodas compliments of the Rockland store, with cookbooks autographed by Chef Kerry to cap off a weeks-long fundraising effort to support Knox County Homeless Coalition.

Thanks to a generous $10,000 match by Hannaford Supermarkets, proceeds from the food and beverage sales at Café Miranda's 25th Anniversary Flock Party, on and offline community donations, more than $17,000 was raised to support the efforts of Knox County Homeless Coalition, which helps more than 500 people annually on their journey from homelessness to sustainable self-reliance.

Stop in at Hannaford, 75 Maverick Street, Rockland beginning Sunday to get Chef Kerry's famed recipe, all the ingredients you need, and grilling tips so you too can "Grill like a Chef" this summer! And, mark your calendars for June 7, 2019 for what will be the 2nd annual Flock Party hosted by Café Miranda and sponsored by Hannaford Supermarkets in support of the good work being done by Knox County Homeless Coalition to break generational cycles of poverty and homelessness here in the Mid-coast.

"Thanks to all who helped to pull off another successful Hannaford-Chef Kerry-Café Miranda event! The weather was perfect, the location was awesome, and all the customers I spoke to were extremely supportive of our collective efforts to raise awareness around an important community issue and the solution KCHC provides. And, of course, the grilled samples were delicious," said Maile Buker, Vice President of Marketing for Hannaford Supermarkets.

Other sponsors of the Flock Party included Camden National Bank, Wallace Events, Rock City Coffee and Thresher's Brewing.
