Brigitte Pfeiffer, obituary

ROCKPORT — Brigitte Pfeiffer, 84, born in Berlin, Germany, July 24, 1935, died of cancer at the Sussman House in Rockport, Maine on February 24, 2020.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; son Luis, who lived with them in Rockport; and son Darren, who lives in Maryland.

Brigitte worked as a translator for the U.S. Army CIC before emigrating to the United States in 1959. After coming to the United State, she was a secretary at the World Bank, and later, was a legal secretary for several law firms in Rockland, Maryland.

She was married to Carl in 1960 and together they adopted three sons, Ira, who died of cancer in 1996, Darren, and Luis, all of Native American heritage. The family moved to Rockport, Maine upon Carl's retirement in 2002.

She was a resident of Rockport, Maine at the time of her passing.

Some of Brigitte's fondest memories were of RV camping trips with the boys when they were young along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and crocheting. She loved all animals and supported many animal welfare charities. Her passion was her cats, Minkie and Barney.
