ROCKLAND — Brenda Lee Ott, 77, passed peacefully in the company of her daughter and son-in-law on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Penobscot Bay Medical Center after fighting IPF for a year.

Born in Rockland, December 6, 1942, she was the daughter of Theodore and Maudie Beaton Lewis. Brenda was a loving daughter, sister, mother, niece, aunt, grandmother and great-Grandmother (Gigi). She lived her entire life in the state of Maine, except for several winters spent in North Carolina.

She loved the ocean. She had not a care in the world when she was down at Crockett’s Beach and she loved to go there in the summer. She loved to collect shells and sea glass to make wreaths and jewelry that she shared with family and friends. Brenda also loved to plant and raise herbs. In the winter she planned her garden for the following season, so excited for spring to arrive. Many people will remember Brenda for was her peanut butter and chocolate fudge. She made it by the pounds and shared it with everyone who needed a pick me up. At Christmas time, Brenda was known to have made thirty pounds of her famous fudge for friends and family alike.

Brenda was a caretaker at heart. She spent years caring for sick and housebound relatives and friends.

Tirelessly and without complaint, she shopped, cleaned, and cooked for those who needed it. She never wanted thanks or praise for this, so we will praise her today. Brenda was loved dearly, and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her sister, Marie; her brother Steve; and her soul-mate, Ron.

Brenda is survived by her brother Ted; son, Troy; daughter, Tracy; grandchildren, Haley, Adam, Malory, Sierra, Molly, Justin; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Jackson; and great-granddaughter Simone; as well as numerous
nieces and nephews.

Brenda’s family has chosen to remember her life privately.
