Brenda (Johnson) Pendleton, obituary

ROCKPORT — On Thursday, October 17, 2019 surrounded by her entire family and filled with love, Brenda J. (Johnson) Pendleton surrendered to our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. Although she fought and beat cancer over ten years ago, this time it came back with a vengeance.

Born on June 15, 1951, she was the oldest of five children of Wade and Virginia Johnson. Brenda grew up in Wilmington, Massachusetts and graduated from Wilmington High School.

On July 28, 1990 Brenda married the love of her life, Donald J. Pendleton, Jr.; together they enjoyed building their home, camping, hiking and spending time with their beloved dog, Eli. Brenda was an avid gardener who took great enjoyment in creating ponds, rock walls and other landscape elements, adding beauty to her surroundings.

Two very special people in Brenda’s life were Ann Russell and Robbie Graham. Their friendship, both personally and professionally, spanned two decades and they both meant the world to Brenda.

In 1987 Brenda chose real estate as her career after moving to Maine. For over 30 years Brenda worked tirelessly for each and every client, treating all with the utmost respect and appreciation for their business. In 2007 she was voted Realtor of the Year in the State of Maine. She was awarded top sales for her office and Knox County many times throughout her career. Brenda also mentored numerous agents over the years, ensuring they were prepared for success.

Brenda is predeceased by the light of her life, daughter Lisa Ann Kasabuski, as well as her parents Wade and Virginia Johnson; sisters, Deborah Ouellette and Dale Shawcross.

She is survived by and will be sorely missed by her husband, Donald; granddaughter, Brittany Ann Genthner; great-granddaughter, Samantha; brother, Boyd Johnson; sister, Patricia Johnson and her companion Irven Starrett; step-son, Donald J Pendleton III and his wife Lisa; step-daughter, Lisa Pendleton and her companion Chris Overlock.

She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, Miranda Balukas, Alyssa Ouellette, Jake Balukas, Bryan, Matthew, John Ouellette; step grandchildren, Kayla Bragg and her husband Ivan, Jannika Bragg and her husband Tru, Jake Pendleton and his wife Seanna, Jaren Willey, Brendon Willey; and step-great-grandchildren, Brinley, Crew, Liam and Landry.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 25, at 11 a.m., at Burpee Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. A reception will be held immediately following. Private interment will be held at Achorn Cemetery.
