Several Belfast Area High School and BCOPE students recently took part in this semester's Scuba Discovery Day, hosted by the Belfast Marine Institute (BMI). Students were provided with scuba gear and diving instruction from Adam and Nancy, scuba instructors from Johnsons Sporting Goods in Rockland.

The event, held each semester, is to introduce and promote the underwater world as well as explore credential or certification opportunities. It is part of the BMI initiative the Floating Classroom, one goal of which is to get students on, in and under the waters of our marine world.
