Belfast library photo contest open to the public

Sat, 06/04/2022 - 4:45pm

    The ABCD project and the Belfast Free Library invite the public to submit photos of their favorite Belfast-area place and their favorite ways to enjoy them. Share your photos of the things you love most about Belfast and our corner of Maine. What activities and places bring you joy and gratitude? Look around you, and be inspired.

    The contest judge is Amy Tingle. A practicing fine artist, editor, and writer, Tingle is the program director at Waterfall Arts in Belfast.

    Photo submissions are due by the end of the day July 15.

    Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners: $50 and $25 gift certificates to the winner’s choice of several selected Belfast businesses who help enhance the love of living and playing in this place.

    Submissions can be photos from past and present-day. The project will judge in 2 categories:

    Places - Gathering places, scenic views, and hidden gems, favorite spots to visit and enjoy your surroundings. Think about natural places and man-made spots alike;

    Play - Walking, beach-going, reading, dancing, gardening, dining, curling, creating or seeing art, boating, music, festivals, hiking, biking, live theater, shopping, movie-going, farmers markets, community events, family & friend traditions, and so many more possibilities.

    Visit https://belfastlibrary.org/abcd-photo-contest/ for all the details and learn how to submit your photo.
