CAMDEN — Merryspring’s annual Spring Plant Sale will be held on Friday, May 17, from 3 to 6 p.m., and Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

This year’s Plant Sale will feature an assortment of annual and perennial plants, as well as a variety of vegetable seedlings and herbs. In addition, there will be shade garden plants from Fernwood Nursery, in Montville, daylilies from the Maine Daylily Society, and plant divisions donated by Merryspring members and friends. 

Featured among this year’s 36 perennial cultivars for sale — all grown in the Merryspring greenhouse — are Geum ‘Mai Tai‘ and Geum ‘Totally Tangerine,’ Anemone ‘Honorine Jobert,’ Phlox paniculata ‘Franz Schubert’ and Phlox subulata ‘Scarlet Flame,’ Heuchera ‘Hercules,’ Monarda didyma ‘Gardenview Scarlet’ and Monarda didyma ‘Marshall’s Delight.’

“Our selection of annuals includes colorful snapdragons, graceful lobelia, stunning begonias and salvia, as well as the ever popular petunias and impatiens for your gardens and flower pots,” said Merryspring, in a news release.

Vegetable seedlings for sale include several varieties of tomato plants, ­­­­­including Matt’s wild red, Black krim, Amish paste, and Black strawberry. The selection of herbs includes all the favorites, including basil, sage, and rosemary.

Merryspring members receive a 10% discount on all plant purchases; non-members can take advantage of that same discount by becoming members during the event.
