Armed services, community recognized during 2019 Lobster Festival parade

ROCKLAND — Blue skies and an appreciative crowd lined Rockland’s streets, Saturday, Aug. 3, in recognition of the U.S. Armed Forces and the community.

All five services were represented during this year’s Lobster Festival Parade as veterans, serving as grand marshals, started at North Main and waved their way through downtown to Pleasant Street.

Many of the participants intertwined this year’s theme, “Community...At the Heart of it All,” and lobster images, into floats, costumes, and signs for the 90-minute excursion through the closed streets.

So great were the conditions, so photogenic were the sights, how do I narrow down more than 900 photos to 100? Well, in this case, I couldn’t. Click here to see a few more parade photos.
