To alleviate some of everyone’s boredom and self-isolation, Charlie Crockett of C2 Productions is digitizing and releasing, on TV and online, numerous classic, vintage Midcoast high school basketball games from the 1980’s, 1990’s and 2000’s, according to a news release.

“Charlie has a vast archive of basketball games that he has produced over these years, and has always put off digitizing them to a later time,” the release said. “Now seems to be a good time.”

The games will be shown on Spectrum CH 1301 and on ROKU on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 1 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., just as this past seasons’ games were shown.

They will also be available on the Maine Coast TV website for viewing anytime.

Notices of when a new game is available are posted on Facebook on the pages for the C2Productions and for Maine Coast TV.

New games will be released on the internet about every two days, according to the release.

The first vintage game was shown on TV on Sunday 3/29, and featured Coach Jeff Hart’s Camden-Rockport Windjammers vs. Coach Elkington’s Rockland Tigers, played at Camden-Rockport on February 5, 1991. The starters for the Windjammers were Brett Hayward, Todd Shaw, Doug Teel, Phil Amoroso, and TJ Hoffman. The starters for the Tigers were Jeff Woodman, Jeff Crossman, Seth Monroe, Mark Fishman, and Jim Montgomery. This game is available by clicking here

The C-R games in the 1980’s and 1990’s was combination of a radio broadcast on WRKD, featuring play-by-play announcers Charlie Crockett and Don Palmer, and a live TV broadcast over the educational TV channel from the CR gym produced by the CRTV Club, with students manning 2 cameras (Jeff Lane and Fred Gilson), creating graphics (Teresa Johnson) and operating slow-motion playback (Nate Greenleaf). Penny Crockett was Director and ran the mixing board which brought all the separate parts together.

C2 Productions (Charlie and Penny Crockett) hope these games bring back great memories to the players and fans of this Midcoast area, and they welcome any feedback or comments on the games, the release read.
