Annual open call for work: ‘Keen Observation’
BELFAST — Waterfall Arts invites artists to submit work for the 2016 Open Call Show: Keen Observation, which reflects this year's overall theme of Art and Science at the arts center. Artistic interpretations in any and all media of scientific investigation are encouraged for the show in the Clifford Gallery. The idea behind Keen Observation is the close examination and investigation of a subject, natural object, phenomenon or process. Multiples of slight variation, close up studies, repetition of patterns in nature, dissection, biological studies, and intense scrutiny of a subject are just some of the approaches one might take.
Artists of all ages and disciplines are welcome to submit one work relating to this theme. Work may be in any medium, in two or three dimensions, overall size not to exceed 60 inches by 60 inches and work must be properly framed for hanging or placement in a gallery setting. Work may be for sale. The Keen Observation show opens on Friday, April 8 and runs through May 17. Work can be delivered during office hours 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. March 30 to April 1 and Tuesday and Wednesday, April 5 and 6. More information can be found at waterfallarts.org.
