Prophetic Tidbit: Kingdom Life
We lead the unsaved to Jesus for salvation, and to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We then gather then together on Sunday called the Church, to nurture them in the Word and to care for them. A needful blessing to be sure. But the goal of a pastor is to lead the people to Christ their shepherd, to know His voice and follow Him.
Our main purpose is together the people around Christ and His throne. All too often we center the people around the pastor and his message rather than Christ and His Kingdom. There is a world of difference. One is Church life void of the power and presence of God, the other is Kingdom life revealed in the power and demonstration of the Spirit.
The Church consist of the redeemed people of God, a people who know their King and live in the power and authority of Christ with dominion, embracing the riches of His glory that is their inheritance in Christ (Ephesians 1:18-19). Kingdom life the way Christian life is meant to be. When this takes place, the Church will become ablaze with the glory of God.
“We thus give thanks unto the Father…. Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son" (Colossians 1:12- 13).
As always, “Rise and shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1).
