FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CAMDEN ROTARY CLUB SEEKING EMERGING LEADERS FOR DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY

July 31, 2019 (Camden, Maine) – Are you an emerging leader between the ages of 18-35? Are you entering the workforce or currently in an entry-level job, but want to learn the skills to grow professionally? Then the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program is for you.

RYLA participants are exposed to values that Rotarians deem essential for those who hold leadership roles: ethical behavior, integrity of character, and a commitment to community service. The program gives awardees an opportunity to:

  • Develop leadership skills
  • Increase self-confidence & self-esteem
  • Meet community leaders and mentors
  • Gain exposure to a variety of issues and people
  • Learn about Rotary International (and potentially join a local club!)
  • Make lifelong memories

Emerging leaders from Maine and Quebec are encouraged to apply for this year’s program, which will take place September 13 - 15, 2019, at Adventure Bound in Caratunk, Maine. The cost is $350, which includes lodging, meals, the leadership program, fun activities, and a world-class white-water rafting adventure. This experience has numerous physical and mental challenges, which test logic and communication skills, encourage teamwork, and enable emerging leaders to build confidence and overcome personal obstacles. Selected participants will receive scholarships from the Camden Rotary Club.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on August 15, 2019. For more information and the application, please visit https://camdenrotary.org/sitepage/what-we-do/related-page-15.
