Boatyard Dogs with personality

Sunday, August 12, 2018 - 01:34 pm

For the second year in a row, Zola the Wonderdog’s exuberance won the judges’ favor during the 16th Annual World Championship Boatyard Dog Trials, Sunday, Aug. 12.

Spectators lined along the Middle Pier in Rockland during the final day of the annual Maine Boats and Homes Show were kept amused by the silent personalities of all canine competitors .

The competition required maneuvering a bit of over, under, and into (a dinghy), yet the primary rule mandated that someone in each pairing must get wet.

Many a hesitant paw stayed out of the water.

Let’s just say that the competing Portuguese Water Dogs will now be referred to simply as Portuguese Dogs.
