Swanville woman arrested after stabbing man
SWANVILLE — A Swanville woman has been arrested following a violent assault on Swan Lake Avenue March 5.
Michelle Sheaffer, 26, reportedly stabbed a male cohabitant in the buttocks after getting into a verbal altercation with him and other family members, according to a media report.
The stabbing allegedly involved the use of a small kitchen knife.
Due to initial confusion about whether the residence was located in Belfast or Swanville, both Belfast Police and Waldo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene.
Belfast Police officers arrived at the residence first and attempted to place Sheaffer under arrest a short time later.
Sheaffer reportedly became combative with arresting officer Sergeant Daniel Fitzpatrick, biting his hand during the struggle to subdue her.
Sheaffer was ultimately restrained and transported from the scene. She is being held without bail pending arraignment.
The victim was transported to Waldo County General Hospital for treatment where he was later released.
