Waldoboro Police beat: Drug possession, arrest warrants, OUI
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 144 calls for service from Feb. 14-21. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Feb. 14
Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen of the theft of medication.
Feb. 15
Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Manktown Road at 4:38 p.m. Ashley Mellor, 32, of Liberty, was driving a 2008 Hyundai utility vehicle. She was traveling northbound following the roadway, lost control and ran off roadway, causing damage to vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Bartunek investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 7:54 p.m. P.M. Benjamin Libby, 22, of Rockland, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet van. Isaac Petersen, 44, of Edgecomb, was driving a 2000 Pontiac sedan. Libby was traveling westbound, following the roadway and , drove too fast for the conditions. He went off the side of the road striking Peterson’s vehicle which parked legally. No injuries were reported.
Feb. 16
Laila Ata, 49, of Waldoboro, was arrested for domestic violence assault.
Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Finntown Road at 7:35 a.m. James Richards, 25, of Friendship, was driving a 2009 GMC pickup truck. Alexiee McPhee, 24, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet sedan no injuries. Richards was traveling eastbound in his travel lane. He pulled as far to the right as possible and stopped when he observed McPhee’s vehicle. McPhee was traveling westbound starting in traffic just after backing out of her driveway. She started westbound in the eastbound lane and struck Richards’ vehicle, then continued on. McPhee’s vehicle the hit and run vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Alexiee McPhee, 24, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident and was arrested for four counts of violation of conditional release, operating after suspension and operating a motor vehicle with obstructed view.

Shawn Brewer, 34, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine on a warrant.
Feb. 17
Edward Fisher, 73, of Bristol, was arrested by Hesseltine for operating under the influence.
Curtis Goodson, 37, of Bronx NY, was arrested by Hesseltine for unlawful possession of scheduled drug and a warrant.
Nicole Cooper, 39, of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested by Hesseltine for unlawful possession of scheduled drug.
