BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Oct. 22 - Nov. 2. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. 

Oct. 22

Deputy Darrin Moody responded to the scene of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Monroe Road and Lebanon Road in Winterport. The operator of a 2007 Chevrolet was traveling westbound when they ran a stop sign at the intersection, striking another vehicle. That vehicle, a 2007 Honda, sustained functional damage and its operator reported a possible injury to the head. The Chevrolet received minor damage and the driver was uninjured.

Oct. 23

William Ripley, 23, of Winterport, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Boston Road in Winterport.

Oct. 27

Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Mount Road in Burnham. The operator of a 2010 Chevrolet was traveling north when a cat reportedly entered the roadway. The driver swerved to miss the animal but went off the edge of the road, clipping a utility pole guard wire with a roof rack attached to the vehicle.

Oct. 28

Deputy Darrin Moody responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Oak Hill Road in Swanville. The operator of a 2001 Mazda was reportedly going too fast for the conditions when they began to feel sick. The driver attempted to pull to the right but instead went off the road, striking a utility pole. The vehicle sustained functional damage. There were no injuries.

Oct. 31

Morgan Roberts, 26, of Morrill, was issued a summons for speeding 47 mph in a 25 mph zone on Main Street.

Nov. 2

Anne Beerits, 58, of Deer Isle, was issued a summons for speeding 30 mph in a 15 mph school zone on Searsport Road in Swanville.
