Stockton Springs woman charged in meth-trafficking case, police say
Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said Nov. 4 that a Stockton Springs woman and U.S. citizen living in Mexico have been charged with allegedly selling methamphetamine.
Tiffany Eastman, 27, of Stockton Springs has been charged with Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Methamphetamine) Class B.
Dustin Campbell, 38, of Tijuana, Mexico, has been charged with Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Methamphetamine) Class B and Illegal Importation of Schedule W Drugs (Methamphetamine) Class C.
For the past two months, MDEA agents with the Mid-Coast District Task Force, along with Waldo County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Postal Inspectors, conducted an investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in Waldo County by Eastman, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.
She was arrested by Waldo County Sheriff’s deputies August 21 at the Rocky Ridge Motel in Stockton Springs. Deputies were investigating a robbery complaint at the motel where Eastman was living. Seized at the time was approximately 66 grams of methamphetamine packaged for resale.
The investigation revealed Campbell had mailed Eastman approximately 88 grams of methamphetamine from San Diego, California, police said. Eastman had sent a partial payment to Campbell for the meth with the agreement to send the remaining money owed once the drugs has been sold in Maine. The street value of the meth was $18,000.
Agents secured an arrest warrant for Campbell, who is a U.S. citizen living in Tijuana, Mexico. Campbell was arrested October 28 at the U.S. -Mexican border crossing as he attempted to enter the U.S. from Mexico. Campbell is being held at the San Diego Central Jail in California as a fugitive from justice related to the Maine charges and he is fighting extradition to Maine.
