Tenth methamphetamine lab this year discovered in Bangor
BANGOR – The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Bangor Police continue to investigate the discovery of a meth lab inside the residence of 149 Pine Street apartment Wednesday night.
Two men were taken into custody and several people were evacuated from the multi-unit building as the drug agency's lab team cleaned up the dangerous substance from inside the apartment. The discovery was made inside the apartment of 33-year-old Brian Hovey. Hovey and 27-year-old Thomas Beaudoin were taken into custody for violating probation by Bangor Police.
The lab was discovered by police when they went to the apartment to check on the two men's bail restrictions. It is MDEA's 10th meth response this year.
Update: MDEA filed methamphetamine charges against the two men whose apartment was searched Wednesday in Bangor. Agents charged Brian Hovey, 33, and Thomas Beaudoin, 27, with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine. The two men remain at the Penobscot County Jail and will make their first court appearance later today in Bangor Unified Court.
