Sue is also survived by her brother, Barry Brown; and her recently discovered half-brother, Todd Zeidner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and close extended family. Sue was predeceased by her parents, David and Adele Brown.
Suejo was born Dec. 25, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a special gift for Dave and Adele, who adopted her with open arms. She grew up in Metuchen, N.J. Sue graduated from Syracuse University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts in special education.
She moved to Maine after graduation and taught at The Bancroft School in Owls Head. She then moved into the public school system, first at McClain School in Rockland, then the Elm Street School in Camden. Sue spent the next 33 years teaching at Camden-Rockport Elementary School. Education was her calling; helping and teaching her students to grow as people were her primary concern. Second to education she had many passions, including sailing the coast of Maine with her family, beach days, gardening, sun bathing, Zumba dancing, and of course her friends and family.
Suejo valued family and friends above all. Her spirit and compassion are well known throughout the community. She supported everyone around her and in turn, the community supported her and her family through the hardest of times.
There will be a celebration of life for Suejo on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016. The service will begin at 2 p.m. at Watts Hall in Thomaston. Refreshments to follow. All are welcome to attend and join her family in a service of love and remembrance.
