Oceanside 8, Belfast 1… At Rockland, the Mariners hosted Belfast at the Rockland Golf Club Thursday, Sept. 10 capturing an 8-1 win.
The low-four total score was Oceanside 197 to 220 for Belfast.
Oceanside’s Nick Mazurek was the medalist for the day with a nine-hole, one over par 37.
Individual results, with the Mariners, listed first, were; Nick Mazurek 37, defeats Alex Fritz 42; Ryan Lawrence 45, defeats Artem Richter 5; Abe LeMole 58, defeats Doyle Bailey 63; Michael Doherty 57, defeats Alexia Sweet 68; Aiden Andrews 63 falls to Katy King 62; and Teddy Hallett 65, defeats Kristina Walker 70.
Oceanside goes to 4-2 while Belfast falls to 0-5.
Camden Hills 9, Lawrence 0… At Rockport, The Windjammers are playing good golf and today was no exception as they hosted Lawrence of Oakland at the Samoset Resort.
The low-four total score was Camden Hills 159 to 247 for Lawrence.
The Samoset Golf Course can be overwhelming the first time you play it, and that may well have been the case today as Lawrence as a whole struggled on the course.
Camden Hills Cole Anderson shot a nine-hole, 4-under par 32 to be the medalist for the match.
Individual results, with Camden Hills golfers, listed first, were; Cole Anderson 32, defeated Matt Brown 48; Julian Starbird 35, defeated Jack Fortin 69; Connor Russell 48, defeated Michelle Huey 61; James Orne 47, defeated Nick Dessent 69; Braden Fisher 46, defeated Isaac Klen 70; and Max Horovitz 46, won by forfeit, no player.
Camden Hills goes to 4-1 on the season.
Boys Soccer
Camden Hills 7, Cony 0… The Camden Hills boys continued their romp through Class A for the first time in school history for soccer. Thursday was no different as they traveled to Augusta and handed the host Rams a 7-0 loss.
"We did a great job of generating some early chances today, and we played another solid game,” said Camden Hills coach Ryan Hurley. “Cony did a nice job of keeping us off balance and were a good test defensively. We played hard and will take the Heal Points with us into our home contest this weekend with Oxford Hills. It should be another exciting day of class "A" soccer."
Scoring for Camden Hills were, Josiah Krul (2 goals, assist), Kieran Lydon (2 goals, 2 assists), Josh Pitcairn (goal, assist), Richard Vokey (goal, assist), Marshall Merriam (goal), and David Flint (assist).
Lucas Boetsch had seven saves on nine shots for Camden Hills while Nick Robinson had 16 saves on 29 shots for Cony. Camden Hills held the edge in corner kicks 4-1 over Cony.
Field Hockey
Mount View 3, Erskine Academy 2 (OT)… At Thorndike, Mount View played Erskine at home today and won 3-2 in overtime.
Mount View was up 2-0 at halftime. Reanna Boulay scored the first goal with a beautiful pass from Risa Fox to Megan Mikel with 18:18 left on the clock. Boulay scored again with an assist from Michelle Bilodeau with 6:26 left in the first half.
In the second half Erskine's Michelle Lemlin scored with 19:09 on the clock and then she scored again with 15:07 left to play.
In the overtime, Mount View controlled the ball for seven minutes and finally scored the winning goal with 49 seconds left in the overtime period. The final goal was scored by Megan Mikel off a perfect pass from McKenna Gibbs.
Alexis Bowman was the goalie for Mount View. She faced nine shots with seven saves. Hannah Burns was the goalie for Erskine and she faced 18 shots and had 15 saves. Mount View had 12 corners to Erskine's five corners.
Mount View's record is now 2-2-0, and Erskine's is now 0-4-0.
The JV's tied with a 0-0 score.
