BELFAST — ‘Fluid Color and Light’ is the title of an exhibit of paintings by Jon Byrer that will be in the Kramer Gallery of the Belfast Free Library for the Month of May.

Byre is interested in experimenting with alternative techniques to painting beyond brushes. His technique of pouring layers of enamel paints onto the canvas creates movement and fluidity in his landscapes. About his paintings, Byre said in a news release, “My art is inspired by Maine’s natural beauty and the architecture and culture of the Midcoast region.”

Jon Byrer graduated from the Maine Collage of Art where he received a degree in photography and studied the fine arts. Byrehas been living and working in the Midcoast area for the past 15 years and has exhibited in many local galleries.
