APPLETON and PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Richard A. Tesseo, 73, of Port Richey, Fla., and Appleton, Maine, and formerly of Bangor, passed away Dec. 5, 2013, in Hudson, Fla., following a period of declining health.

Born May 12, 1940, in Bangor to Louis and Mary Elizabeth Tesseo, Richard was the 10th of 12 children and a 1958 graduate of John Bapst High School. After serving in the U.S. Army and living for a period in California with family, he returned to Bangor. There he dedicated 35 years working as a telephone employee for New England Telephone, AT&T, later retiring from Lucent.

Richard was highly respected for his knowledge in telephone and computer technology. After Richard and his wife, Nancy, retired, they enjoyed many cross country road trips visiting family out west. Each winter they traveled to Florida, where they resided. Each spring they returned to Maine, where they spent the summer with family and friends at Sennebec Lake Campground in Appleton.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters; and his brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Carlsen Tesseo; his two sons, Martin Tesseo of Bangor, and Todd Tesseo and his wife, Christine, and their two children, Quinn and Kiley, of Bellingham, Mass.; Nancy's children, Jay Carlsen and his wife, Angie, daughter, Kylie, and son, Adam, all of Rockport, Richard Carlsen and his son, Shane, of Vinalhaven, and daughter Laurie and her husband, John, and children of Edmonds, Wash.; and a large extended family.

A celebration of life will be held at Sennebec Lake Campground in Appleton on July 12 at 1 p.m. Please join us to share food, beverages and memories. For further information call 207-701-1510.
