'The Aging Brain' lecture with geriatric psychiatrist, April 5
UNION — The Peoples United Methodist Church of Union will present a free event, The Aging Brain, with Susan Wehry, MD, Saturday, April 5, at 11 a.m.
Learn about the usual cognitive changes associated with aging, the "greater-than-usual-but-less-than dementia" state called MCI or mild cognitive impairment, and dementia, what is it, what causes it, how to reduce the risk of getting it, and how to live well with dementia if you do develop it, how to support people living with dementia and those who support them.
Susan Wehry MD is a board certified geriatric psychiatrist and director of Aging ME, Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP), Center for Excellence on Public Health, Associate Clinical Professor College of Osteopathic Medicine University of New England.
