RSU 71 has opened its registration for Kindergarten and Pre-K for school year 2025-2026.

Kindergarten

RSU 71 elementary schools are preparing for kindergarten screening for the 2025/2026 school year.

Student screening at Capt. Stevens School and East Belfast School will be held on May 8 and May 9.

Gladys Weymouth School will be screening kindergarten students on May 6 and May 7.

If you have a child who will be 5-years old on or before October 15, 2025, now is the time to contact the appropriate school to request information. All student registration for the 2025-26 school year will be done online. Once your child’s online registration has been processed, you will be contacted to set up a screening appointment for your child.

Pre-Kindergarten

If you have a child who will be 4-years old on or before October 15, 2025, now is the time to contact Waldo Community Action Partners (WaldoCAP) to apply for Pre-K.

Applications can be accessed online at WaldoCAP. Click the Early Childhood logo, then click Pre-K and scroll down and click on “Apply”. Applications will be scheduled starting in March for the 2025-2026 school year. If you need help applying, please call Waldo CAP’s Early Childhood Program at 338-3827 and ask for Nettie or Nicole.
