Resurgence Dance Company to perform eclectic blend of hip-hop and contemporary ballet
CAMDEN — Resurgence Dance Company will perform The Siren of Crystal Lake, Saturday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m., at The Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., Camden.
The production is an eclectic blend of hip-hop and contemporary ballet. Choreographed by Ashley Steeves and local guest artists, this full length theater performance tells a chilling tale of sailors who make their living mining for crystals in the siren infested lake. Soloist Maddie Imus performs as the titular siren, Amethyst, who falls in love with a naive sailor, which causes her to question humanity and kindness.
This haunting show will feature elements of horror and fake blood, but will be appropriate for brave viewers 8 and up.
Shows will also be staged Friday and Saturday, Jan. 10 and 11, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m., at the Chocolate Church Arts Center, 804 Washington St., Bath.
Tickets are $25 at the door but $20 online, and you can always pay sliding scale as needed, according to Kendray Rodriguez, in a news release.
