Quiet Thoughts read aloud at Rockport Public Library, Jan. 15
CAMDEN — On Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 1 p.m., Michael Paul Lund will return to the Rockport Public Library to read aloud selections from his book series entitled, “Quiet Thoughts for a Noisy World.” Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
For more than twenty years, Lund has been writing a series of published books — now at seven volumes — containing his collected essays, prose, and short stories. Lund’s musings cover topics ranging from his life as a performer and music historian, to reflections about living on the Maine coast. The readings he has chosen for this presentation will focus on the beauty of nature and animals; finding peace in spiritual living; and the power of silence.
Lund is a resident of Lincolnville and is well-known in the region for his lively presentations about early and mid-20th century music at libraries and historical societies, according to the Camden Public Library, in a news release. His book series has been translated into Japanese and Braille editions. A two-disc voice recording of selected pieces was also recorded for the Library of the Blind. Copies of the books will be available for purchase at the reading.
