Watts Hall Community Arts celebrates World Singing Day, Oct. 19
THOMASTON — Watts Hall Community Arts will participate in World Singing Day, a global sing-along event that brings people together through the joy of music. This year’s event will take place Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10:30 a.m., at Watts Hall, located at 174 Main Street in Thomaston.
World Singing Day is an international event that encourages people from all walks of life to connect through the universal language of music. Founded in 2012 by Colorado musician Scott Johnson, the event now spans the globe, with communities from all over the world gathering to sing together in a spirit of unity and fun. This year marks Thomaston’s second year participating, and Watts Hall is the only venue in Maine hosting this celebration.
“This event is truly for everyone,” says Kendray Rodriguez, Managing Director of Watts Hall Community Arts, in a news release. “Whether you’re a seasoned singer or just love to hum along, World Singing Day is all about coming together as a community, sharing the magic of music, and creating lasting memories with friends, neighbors, and even strangers.”
No rehearsals or auditions are required, and all ages and abilities are welcome. Whether you attend solo or with a group, World Singing Day is an opportunity to experience the connection that singing together can create in a safe and joyful environment.
This event is free to participate in. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. To learn more and join in the fun, visit wattshallthomaston.com.
