Manford H. Durkee was born June 1,1940 at home on Islesboro, Maine. He passed away on September 30, 2023 at home on Clark Island, Maine.
 
Manford graduated high school in 1958 and immediately joined the Coast Guard on October 28. He served 22 1/2 years, most of it was Sea Duty. He was stationed in California, New York and Maine. 
 
He and his wife, Pat, had a total of 8 children together: Randy, Manford, Leonard and his wife Nancy, Kevin and his wife Cheryl, Cheryl and her husband Bryce, Larry, Lorry and her husband Lester, and Buffy; two daughters in law, Linda and Patty; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
 
Predeceased by daughter-in-law Pandy and son-in-law John; and 15 days before he passed was his daughter Lorry.
 
Services will be held on October 21, 2023, at 2 p.m., at The First Baptist Church in St. George, followed by a Military graveside service.
