FEBRUARY SCHOOL BREAK CAMPS 2023

Tue, 02/07/2023 - 10:15am

Join us at the museum during February vacation for three exciting new education camps which allow children to experience invention, engineering, and work with alternate forms of energy.

OHTM Education Director Megan Galinsky and Education Facilitator Kaylor Stroot will lead camps designed for ages 4-5, 6-8 and 9-12, all of which utilize STEM (science, technology, mathematics, and education) teaching tools to inspire future transportation pioneers! Sign up below to enroll your child in one of these programs and learn more.

Fads and Failures
February 20-21, 2023
Ages 6-8 | 9am - 3pm

Campers will learn about tinkering and engineering through our collection of Fads and Failures. Learning about what worked and what didn’t campers will build a prototype that will be tested and categorized as an invention that will make a successful mark in history or as a "FAD"—making its mark in history as a failed learning tool for fellow inventors to learn from. (snack provided)

Member $80
Non-Member $90

Be an Engineer
February 22, 2023
Ages 4-5 | 9am - 12pm
Has your camper ever considered becoming an engineer? Now they can give it a try! In this program, campers will learn about multiple fields of engineering using vehicles from our collection as examples as well as through hands-on STEM projects. Campers will test electricity, building methods and discover solutions that are sure to inspire them! (snack provided)

Member $25
Non-Member $30

Energy Wars
February 23-24, 2023
Ages 9-12  |  9am -3pm
Why did combustion power win in the race to power the future? Campers will step back 100 years in time to learn about different energy sources and why some were better than others. Campers will be challenged to make an automobile operate on an alternative energy source. Their results will reveal which form of energy will win the race to power the future. (snack provided)
