Enough is enough

Broadway runs through the center of residential Rockland where neighbors improve their homes and gardens and children walk to and from the regional high school along with many neighbors walking with their children and dogs.

In the span of 12 months from 2020 to 2021 there have been four serious accidents on Broadway – three of which have involved a vehicle crashing into someone’s home.   The speed limit is 30 mph but vehicles and heavy trucks routinely travel at much greater speed and run though the red light at Broadway and Limerock.  Residents listen to constant heavy traffic and drag racing in the middle of the night.   The heavy trucks literally shake us in our beds.

This residential street has become very, very dangerous but neither the State nor the City respond to pleas for a resolution.   Why is a residential street being used as an interstate highway?  Will someone only pay attention after one of us is killed?
