West Bay Rotary is raising money for Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition and you can help.

It is a West Bay Rotary tradition that members donate money for charities and nonprofits by putting money into buckets on the table at each meeting.  Because we are meeting via Zoom these days, we are now calling these buckets in cyberspace.

In order to increase donations and help shine a light on nonprofits that we support, we decided to open this up to our community.  If you would like to donate our buckets in cyberspace, please click the donate button on our website at westbayrotaryofmaine.org.  Donations made through April 15th will benefit Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition.

Addiction to drugs and/or alcohol has become all too common in Midcoast Maine and across the country, taking its toll on individuals and families throughout our communities. Deaths due to drug overdose have dramatically increased in Maine since the onset of COVID-19, up almost 50% from a year ago according to Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition (MCRC). Established in 2016, MCRC operates two certified recovery residences in the Midcoast area. Their goal is to help individuals and families reintegrate into the community in an enduring manner.

Robyn Stanicki, President of MCRC stated, "The board and staff at Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition are honored by West Bay Rotary’s support. Our community members invest hope and certainty into the futures and potential of those among us who struggle with substance dependence and addiction. Our recovery houses not only provide shelter but shepherd and bellwether a personal pilgrimage toward social, emotional and spiritual health".
