Eleanor Rose Wood, 88, passed away on January 2, 2021 at her home.

Eleanor was born on June 7, 1932 in Franklinville, New Jersey to the late William and Anna Deschler. She spent time working as a glass fabricator prior to marriage.

Eleanor and her husband, Alfred, spent countless hours volunteering. She volunteered with CEF, The Good News Clubs, Edison Nursing Home and helped run a summer camp for kids.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Alfred, who passed away in 2020; by her grandson Alexander Wood; and by her siblings, Mildred Deschler and Boardman Deschler.

Surviving are her children, Robert Wood and his wife Barbara of Oklahoma, John Wood and his wife Eleanor of New Jersey, Linda Crocetto of Maine and Kenneth Wood and his wife Gloria of Tennessee; her sisters Ann Deschler and Ruth Deschler; her brothers William Deschler and George Deschler; her grandchildren, Brent, Keri, Alan, Michael, Amanda, Olivia and Steven; her twenty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 8, 2021 at the Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, Maine, with visiting hours from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. prayer service. Burial will take place in the spring.
