ROCKLAND — Gerald “Wink” L. Winchenbach, 84, died peacefully, Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the Knox Center for Long Term Care where he had resided since February 2020.

Wink was born to Frank and Maude (Leach) Winchenbach on August 8, 1936 in Rockland and was the 5th of 8 children.

Gerald worked for many years as a fuel delivery driver before retiring from the Former Webber Oil Co. in 2007.

He enjoyed puttering in his workshop, fishing, and spending time at “the cottage.” He will be remembered as a man with a fun loving nature who enjoyed a good joke, a good meal, and a good nap. He also had the patience
and ability to solve Rubik’s Cube.

Predeceased by his parents, his sister, Barbara Nystrom, his brother, Clayton Winchenbach, his two brother in-laws, James Bonner, and William Nystrom; he is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Maude Winchenbach
of Rockland; his son Jeffrey Winchenbach, his wife Kathie, and granddaughter Amie Winchenbach all of Portland; his brothers, Kenneth Winchenbach and his wife Marilyn of Rockport, Dana Winchenbach and his wife Ruth of Hope, and Ronald Winchenbach and his wife Norma of Sherman Mills; his sisters, Lois Spooner and her husband Gerald of Bristol, and Mary Ann Bonner of Brunswick; his sister in-law, Joan Winchenbach of Warren; and many much loved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020, at 10:30 a.m., at Achorn Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Sawyer officiating.

For those wishing to attend, the family requests that you please follow Covid-19 restrictions by wearing a face mask and following social distancing guidelines.

Later in life, Wink would come to suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease, and although flowers are welcomed, donations in his name would be greatly appreciated by his family and can be sent to: Maine Alzheimer’s Association, 383 US Route 1, #2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
