ISLESBORO — Peggy Shea has joined Islesboro Central School as its new Technology Integrator and Teacher.

Shea holds a Masters in English from the University of New Hampshire. Prior to coming here she worked as an English teacher in Searsport and Belfast, where she worked with grades 7-12.

Teaching is a second career for Shea. She began her working life in the tech world, where she worked with a group of NASA research scientists as well as for Microsoft.

She has made her home in Belfast for the last 13 years, raising her daughters and building deep connections in the community, according to ICS, in a news release. She has recently taken up sailing so, when she’s not working, look for her in Belfast Harbor.
