ISLESBORO — Islesboro Central School junior Pia Gibson has been admitted to the prestigious New England Young Writers' Conference at Bread Loaf.

Pia submitted an excerpt from her short story "Shar's Stars" and will study fiction writing during her time there.

The conference, held in May at the Bread Loaf campus of Middlebury College, in Vermont, will include writing workshops, readings, performances, and opportunities to connect with other excellent young writers from around the country, according to ICS, in a news release.

“We are proud of Pia and wish her a fulfilling and enriching few days in Vermont this spring,” said ICS. “Congratulations.”
